“About a year ago I bought a DeBuyer Force Blue Crepe Pan to try out what this brand has to offer for 10 pounds. To be honest it wasn't an easy start however after some time we started to get on with each other I took care of the Pan and it was rewarding by making lovely crispy-edged crepes. Some months later I decided to replace an aging nonstick pan which we had home for years with some proper ones. As I'm not a huge fan of PTFE (or other synthetic nonstick coatings) and didn't want to spend a hundred pounds for a pan which is made from space-shuttle material I chose the (then) new DeBuyer Mineral Frying Pan. What can I say about it... This pan is like your partner in a relationship in many ways. You can't just use it and forget about it afterwards, you have to care about it, give it a warm bath (but you should avoid soaking it for too long), you should give it a nice oil massage after the bath. Your reward will be food which will be getting better and better over time as the pan is acquiring a natural nonstick coating as it is being used. I would also like to point out that pans made by this company are used in some of the London overpriced French restaurants. So if you need a pan for sealing, roasting, browning or any yummy creations of meat, fish, potatoes or roast vegetables this is the pan for you.” |
